Thanked: 1371My soap bowls are stacked - the most recently used is on the top. I usually grab the bottom bowl and after the shave put it on top of the pile.
When I am in a big hurry though, I just grab my mug of Williams - I may be odd, but Williams is my go-to soap when I am in a hurry.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

You know, I just kind of pick what I feel I want to use that day. I actually tend to stick with a soap for a week or so before choosing something different..
I only really have about six soaps at a time, tabac, arko stick, klarr kabinett, mwf, and srd.

I'm still new to the wet shaving world, so I only have a few soaps and creams *(However I already have more on order LOL) I actually take a moment and smell each soap/cream in the morning and one usually speaks to me to let me know it's that soap/cream's turn

Thanked: 1262I have a fool proof system that will give you a bbs shave every time. I invite you to purchase my dvd or come to one of my classes where I teach you my soap selection secrets.

Price, seems to decide it.
I have a few costly creams that I use for special events( basically anything can fall into this category, sad to say).
My everyday cream is C.O.Bigelow in the tube, not too expensive, makes great lather, the scent does not override the aftershave.

Gentlemen,
I use mostly my daily mood to select the day's shave soap or cream, mostly soap. Call it adding another pleasant element to the wet shaving ritual. Oh, the joy of debating whether to use a Thater with Martin de Candre or Castle Forbes, or a Simpson Chubby with Mitchell's Wool Fat, or a Semogue boar with Tabac, or . . . And so it goes.
