Thanked: 94not expensive. $13 for the puck alone. Its expensive if you want the collectors ceramic soap holder. I myself prefer pyrex air tight containers $7 bed bath and beyond.

So I finally ordered sone of this and used it last night. I have to say that it's good, no question. I liked the lather and the scent and the shave.
However, with that said, I expected it to be head and shoulders above my L'Occitaine shave soap, based on everything I've read about how amazing the MWF is. It wasn't really. Different, excellent, sure, but not really better. So I feel a little let down honestly. I almost expected the heavens to open up and an angelic choir to sing as the light of the heavens illuminated my face to shave by.
It was good, really, but....
I'm going to try it in an uberlather with some Proraso cream and glycerine next. Maybe that will be mind blowing. At the very least, I'll get another really good shave.

Well, I understand your let down. I have used products that I thought were going to be mind blowing but it turned out different. Of course, I really only made my decision on MWF after using it for two weeks. I still love it. I use L'Occitane as well and I feel MWF is head and shoulders about it. I am not saying L'Occitane is bad just I like the MWF better. Sometimes I will mix the two if feeling like a little something different. Anyway, good luck with that. I hope you find what you are looking for.

It's amazing on its own but I like to put a couple drops of glycerine and liquid aloe in the bowl to create a pillow like lather.

I think they were about the same for the puck actually. The thing is that I liked it. I really did, it was a really good soap. I guess I just had read too much hype and expected, I don't know what.
I certainly intend to keep using it though, and when it runs out, I'll get more. It's not at all that I didn't like it.

Both were about ten bucks. The L'Occitaine cream IS expensive though, and not all that great to my mind. I much prefer the Proraso cream. Get the soap and leave the cream, IMO.

Here's a good one for you from Gssixgun. MWF + Musgo real cream (tube) + 5 drops of glycerin = Lanolin overload....I have a scuttle that's about 6 inches wide, and it could bearly contain all the lathery goodness.
MWF can certainly stand up on it's own, but I like to play around once in a while, to make things fun.
And, your correct by the way. The fat is good, But I totally agree, L'Occtaine is better, So is DR Harris. (YMMV) I recently purchased their Marlborough Shave Soap, and The Arlington Shave cream in the tube. Highly recommend both. Especially the shave soap. I was very impressed, maybe even blown away by the lather...Definitely worth buying...
Xpec too, I see SRD now carries Xpec Shave Cream....Totally awesome stuff btw if you haven't tried it....Last edited by zib; 05-24-2012 at 12:47 AM.
