How about Lava hand soap w/ the stiffest boar brush you can find? Ultra-masculine! Talk about exfoliation! Might even sharpen your razor as you shave. Definitely can be used for lapping your hones! Plus you'll have that weathered outdoorsman look!

If I ever go that far, I'll be shaving with bowie knife or axe instead of some girly W&B or Henckel instrument.

I can't smell sandalwood.. it drives me nuts because it is a scent that I adored as a young 'un...

Lavender in particular is known to cause headaches in some people.. you have to be careful because it is mostly known for causing you to relax, it is a really good bedtime scent and folks market it that way, but neglect to mention that it may cause migraines in some people.. know yourself and buy what you like is the best advise.

Thanks Mama Bear ---this means a lot coming from an expert.

Well, I don't know if I am an expert, but I have had essential oil, fragrance oil and homemade soap aquisition disorder for 30 years and it is getting worse and worse every year.... you should see my bathroom, I am probably the only person in the world who has to dust in there... The more you do, the more you learn.. as with anything.

You know, I think people crave certain foods when they are sick, like chicken noodle soup (I almost wrote soap ) when they have a cold. Scents are like this to me, sometimes I want something in particular one day. I have learned to go with what I like. I am sure I like it for more reasons than I think I am aware of..... I hope this makes sense..

I'd say you're an expert. I'm not particularly allergic to anything ---but I do get migraines every week to two weeks. In that migraine state, all my senses are amplified : sound, smell, sight and everything is sensitive. This usually happens with a low pressure front coming in. Some smells are hard to tolerate in that state -- specifically sweet , flowery smells --but not always. Strangely when having a migraine, it is very difficult even to write clearly --nothing wants to work right and you have to let it pass.
I usually associate certain smells with migraines (kind of like a certain food when you're sick) and avoid them --anyway it's all weird. Take it easy,

I think that you also know more than you think you know then... stay away from sweet and flowery all of the time. I would be interested to know if this helps you..... what a horrible shame to suffer from these... my best friend also does and life comes to a standstill for her when she has one.. it breaks my heart.

It's not all that bad, Mama Bear. Mine aren't as bad, frequent, or as lasting as some. I've had them most of my life and didn't even know they were migraines. I'm kind of old school in someways -things are what they are --I always figured everyone had these types of headaches. The only real downfall of them is that when I have them I can be grumpy --and like most men when hurting a little -- I don't want anyone to be around me. You have to explain to others that you'll be yourself again in a few hours or so. But really, it all part of being alive and cheers to that. Take it easy,

I can't believe I don't see Colleen's Desert Ironwood mentioned here. Or Pennzoil 30 weight.
