I've never been to a live hockey game, just see it on telly sometimes.

I was never brought up on Ice Hockey, I was a hooker in the school Rugby team though.

I can ice skate but in the UK we use the skates with the teeth on the toe (rented them actually) so compared to most of the N Americans my ice skating skills are not that great, especially now I'm 60 and don't bounce like I used to.

Sweet ride! My brother had a 65 (pretty sure it was 65. This was back in the 60s) that looked just like that, same color and everything. 389, 6 pack, 4 speed, Hurst shifter, positraction I'm pretty sure. He said it would boil the tires right off the rim. I was a little kid and I remember it scared me because it was loud although he.tells me that was probably his Chevy II with the 327.

I was gonna vote for the Panthers cause I want to see Jumbo get a cup, he was the man for us in SJ forever, but we let him down. He hasn’t been playing though so I don’t have a favorite, but I hate St.Louis so hopefully they don’t make it lol. Might have to pull for Carolina since I’m here.

Congratulations to the Rangers fans out there. That was a heck of a game 7 win in OT. I hear you horndog. For me it is the Penguins I hate (no offense to any fans). I too love Jumbo. He is hockey in a nutshell and he is definitely due. I was hoping the Lightning would pick him up but their cap was maxed. Obviously I always pull for my team but barring that I have to pull for the home state rival and in addition for Joe Géant Thornton as I heard him called watching a match in French. Sometimes I watch the French broadcast to refresh the French I studied and have now lost from lack of use.

What I love about the Canes is that Bunch Of Jerks thing. That is so what I love about hockey. Take a chirp, own it and turn it around. I've heard hockey fans say they don't like the smack talk. I don't understand that. That's like saying you like to hunt but don't want to kill anything. Maybe it's just me. Although I think that is why Florida teams do well. Florida and hockey are like matched book ends: in your face, take no prisoners, go for the throat.

That's how the playoffs go. You can't ever count any team out until the final goal is scored and the last second ticks away. Especially post salary cap the teams are so even and the best of 7 series gives so much opportunity for corrections that it's almost more about coaching and strategy than players and line combinations.

Sharks had LA in a 3-0 hole back in 14 and lost that series…. Still hurts lol. That’s the playoffs though never over till the fat lady sings. Wish the NHL.tv or ESPN plus didn’t blackout the playoff games, it’s a real let down for those of us without a tv package.

I don't know. I'm watching a replay of the Norway vs Great Britain game that Otto was talking about and they seem to be be doing their fair share of hitting. The smaller ice that the NHL uses does make for a rougher game though generally.
