Yeah, me too. They play with a lot of heart if not quite as much experience yet. My nephews (actually my wife's cousin's kids but to me they're my nephews) play junior hockey in Dallas. It's fun to watch.

:dropjaw:...:dropjaw:...:dropjaw:...:dropjaw:...:d ropjaw:...:dropjaw:...:dropjaw:... Man that was some fine hockey! The USA pulls it out and beats their nemesis in the final 3 minutes. Now for the coup de grâce. USA vs Canada for the gold metal. That should be sweet to watch.
Woooowww! One of the biggest upsets in hockey history.

I was going to gloat but  I don't think I need to.
Hallelujah! NHL hockey again!

Nice job chirping Steve. You've done this before haven't you?
Se I like it a little beefier like:
"Hey (name of choice here), is that your team or the cast of The Golden Girls?"
Or:
"C'mon! If I'd known this was the Icecapades I'd have worn my My Little Pony T shirt!"
Or:
"Are you gonna put your granny in soon? You'd better if you plan to score this season."
Minor league games are cheap an accessible.

How do your wives react when the Hockey comes on?
In England my wife used to groan and go upstairs to read when the footy came on.
You know, I am a very lucky man. Susie actually enables me in a lot of my pursuits. She gives me power tools, straight razors and hockey paraphernalia for gifts and she takes me to hockey games. She doesn't follow it on the idiot box but she makes sure I have snacks and beer and she loves to go to the live games. We have a good working relationship about things like that. We both tolerate and encourage the other's likes and hobbies.
That's quite an impressive record.

RIP Bob Plager. New York Rangers and mainly St Louis Blues 1964-1978. Killed in a car accident yesterday in St Louis. Travel well old warrior.
Attachment 330824
Being an old St. Louis boy myself and playing hockey at that time, I spent many nights at the chevkerdo e, him and his brother were tough, also watched Brett Hull grow up. Sorry to see him go, damn he’s as old as me
Yeah, $hitty way to go too. He was a St Louis icon.

Yup…can’t wait for the playoffs…Played some myself…had this mask made in 1971 when I was playing Midget Hockey…then High School..then Beer leagues…retired at 26. Then put the pads back on at age 40 …for a dozen games…then hung them up.Attachment 341308
Can’t wait for Bruins vs Tampa
That's always a good game. The one I love most is Lightning vs Panthers. That in state rivalry is really heated.
Got about a week and a half before the playoffs start. Trying to decide whether I want to wait until they start or get an early jump on my 2022 playoff beard.
Okay. 2022 playoff beard it is.

Well, there it is. The 2022 playoff schedule.

Only 2 more games to play in the regular season; one more out west tonight and onore Sunday. Neither of those games affect the playoff schedule.
Lightning played the Islanders tonight and apparently it was Zdeno Chára's final game of a 24 year career. Although I am a dyed in the wool Lightning fan it was nice to see him get a goal in his final game. Every player, official and even Jon Cooper, the Lightning head coach came out to give him a handshake
Hats off the the big, BIG man, #33.
:chapeau
Got my beard, got my beer and the koozie, got my jersey (shirt underneath) got my flag (and the big one hanging on the front of the house) got my stick..

Okay. I'm ready for the first game of the playoffs.
''GO BOLTS"
MAN! What a game last night!

Lightning fought off elimination with a one point win in overtime. All props to the Leafs. They played a hell of a game. The look on Auston Matthews face after the winning goal could have been a clip for "...and the agony of defeat." You could really see the gut wrench in his eyes. I was happy for my team but I really felt for them.
It's the classic rivalry story of the champions trying to do the near impossible and win a third time in a row vs the team that is battling their history and trying to defeat the reigning champs at the same time. Both teams gave it everything they had.
Now the real battle comes in game 7. Good luck to both sides.
Tampa is getting Bounced on Saturday
And Bruins are moving on…to the next round…I hope
Oh!!!!! Sorry to say that predictions don't always prove right.
Of course I am glad the Lightning did NOT get bounced. By the way; AND SHAME ON THEIR FANS FOR BOOING THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER!!!!! that is uncool!!!!
But, I was disappointed that the Bruins didn't pull it out. But, as the adage goes, "That's hockey."
Been a long time SJ Sharks fan so my horse isn’t in it, but I’ll be Happy if LA gets bounced haha. Florida/Colorado is by bet, but so many good teams still in it it’s hard to say.
You know... Panthers are due and if the Lightning can't pull it out (3 in a row is almost impossible post salary cap) I'll be behind them. But I predict it will either be Lightning or Panthers inll the final against Colorado.
I’ve been a Maple Leafs fan for as long as I can remember. That makes me al long-suffering incurable optimist. Maybe next year, or the year after, or …
Stavanger Oilers and Norway fan :)
Watching Norway playing GBR right now :)
I know David. As much as I, of course, wanted my team to win I felt for the Leafs. They have had such a long streak of disappointments in the post season even though they've played well in the regular season. That has to be tough as a team as well as a fan. They have nothing to be ashamed of in this case though. They played a heck of a series against the Lightning. It was a truly commendable effort.
I've gotten some notifications about the IIHF games but haven't had a chance to watch any yet. I have been working or engrossed in the NHL playoffs but I want to catch some of those games. Sometimes I will watch KHL games on Hulu. It's interesting how different their games are from NHL games. As far as I can tell the rules are mostly if not all the same but the style of play is a little different. The NHL game seems more aggressive, more hitting and I don't think I have ever seen a fight in a KHL game. Of course I haven't watched that many. I think there's a beauty to the game.which the fighting and hitting interrupts. Also there don't seem to be as many penalties called as a result. That makes for more flow to the game and less interruptions.
Yes, the NHL games are more aggressive as in hitting and that obviously causes delays as penalties are called. Overall, I'd say international hockey is a faster more graceful game than the NHL version. I guess which you prefer to watch depends on whether you want to go and see a fight or an actual hockey game. The ice rinks are different sizes too.
