Fabric & leather for me too.
I've read the fabric is unnecessary for the first stropping after honing but I always use something before leather sometimes felt sometimes linen.
    Some good info here: http://straightrazorpalace.com/strop...=linen+leather

Definitely fabric and leather. Sometimes wool felt (no CrOx) and leather. I like the feeling of the hard wool felt on my SRD premium I.

    50 fabric
    50 leather

sometimes i also just like the feeling of the Premium I, and (sheepishly) I'll do 100 leather, just because it feels good.

I also read/saw a vid where the fabric will remove loose particles from the blade, produced during honing, so as to not contaminate the strop.

There are almost as many different fabric types as there are hone types eh? I'll have to read up more on this.

I go from a barber hone, to my home-made denim strop, to my home-made leather strop. The number of passes varies, but I usually do about 30-40 on the denim, then at least 50 on leather. Hasn't failed me yet

    *EDIT*

Just as JimmyHAD posted, I also do about 20 passes on denim after the shave to "dry" the edge off, preventing any corrosion.

I am woefully slow at stropping. I definitely got to work on that.

Fabric certainly does add another aspect of keeness to the blade.

Only an issue if your doing multiple razors per session

I think I'll fare better when I get a hanging strop as opposed to my current paddle strop.
