Thanked: 10I use a Tony Miller latigo, a Hand American Old Dog Chicago Special and an Old Mac Scotch Shell that I got from Josh. The latigo has the most draw and the Old Dog has the least but the Scotch Shell is like butter.

I am using a tiny Dovo, it is cowhide. But I have ordered from Strop-shop a Buffalo strop with a linen side. It is 3" wide and much more longer. Hope it works very well. It should arrive on next week.

What kind of strops do you guys use?
Gentlemen:
I am down to the following strops:
1. SRD English Bridal (long), which I use for all the 6/8" razors. I must say, this is a sweet strop, although I think I would prefer the shorter version.
2. Illinois 127 and 827. These are for my 5/8" blades. Granted, I have never found the workmanship on the Illinois strops topnotch, but for some reason I am fond of them.
3. Tony Miller 2" strop with string attachment. This is a beautifully-made little strop and I use it for travel with my two 4/8" razors.
4. Ruprazor pasted strop.
5. SRD 2" pasted strop.
I just hope this thread does not tickle my fancy to start looking for another strop. I really don't need one. On second thought, maybe I'll go on the Internet to see what's out there . . .
Regards,
Obie

My favorite is an Old Dog signature with English Bridal on one side & Cardovan on the other. I also use a vintage Irwin strop with Hess Hair linen a lot, a SRD latigo, Shumate vintage, Manhattan Hone vintage, & several homemade hanging & paddle strops.
