    Question SRD Materials

    Howdy all,

Just thought id ask the users out in Razor Land what materials they enjoy from the SRD strops.

I currently have the webbing and black latigo 3 inch strop. While it works ok for me i really cant stand the sound the webbing makes when my razor zips across it.

Thinking about replacing the webbing so thought id ask to see what the most loved fabric is.

I have a few of the different leathers and backing materials from SRD.
My favorite leathers are the Premium I and IV.
For fabrics, I love the linen for CrO, the hard felt for Diamond spray. I also keep a hard pressed felt on my paddle clean, that works great too, IME.

The hard felt it a nice sound and a nice feel. I've also got the SRD Premium fabric. It has a great feel and a bit of a lower pitch when you "zip" the razor across it.

If you're going for stealth and quiet, then the felt is where it's at.

I almost didn't go with the poly webbing because of that sound when I was testing it. But........the results from it were so good and the fact that it also worked well with pastes really was the deciding factor in introducing it into the strop world. Other than it's distinctive sound, it has been a hit across the board and virtually every strop maker out there has added it to their strops now. Nuttin' wrong with the cottons, linen or felt. Lots of versatility and personal preference involved.

    Have fun,

    Lynn

I have the poly webbing and at first I thought it was strange but now I actually prefer it to the linen and canvas.

I truly have no idea.....it's feels like a dense cotton, but I'm probably wrong.

It's made from the shave tested arm hair of Lynn himself, woven by Tibetan monks who reside at Rongphu monastery at the North face of the great mount Qumolangma..... that's why it works so damn well!

Despite what i read about the polly webbing .. i think it was somthing like its like stropping on a car seat belt. Well i brought the english bridle IV. With the brown webbing. my favourite has all ways been natural linen. I can onestly say i love the sound and feel of the webbing. the leather is spot on to. So i would highly recomend the strop and webbing. I also think the lenght is perfect lenght . Paul recomended the strop to me and i'm glad he did .

Its a great strop a great price i like the webbing better than cotton and as much as my natural linen.
