Nice job Jimbo. I like the globs of lather flying around the room!

First of all I love the razor and that is one heck of a scuttle. Interesting to see another person's method. I shave in a similar fashion. Dominant hand to manipulate the blade but I have older skin so I have to apply a bit more stretch. Also I re-lather for the second pass. Feels so good and sooths my tender skin. Nice video, thanks for that.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

That was great James!
Was I the only one who was stretching my neck and making my typical shaving faces while watching?

The crowd went "gasp! oooohhh" when you did your left cheek stretching with the finger and taking a stroke right towards it!Last edited by Quick; 02-22-2009 at 02:29 AM.

Thanked: 1587Thanks lads. I use that enamel bowl because when we were in drought and on water restrictions I did not want to waste the shaving water down the sink. I tip it out onto my plants. Waste not want not, as they say.
I cannot be absolutely certain, but I think the ATG on my neck (under the chin) looks like an aggressive angle due to the poor quality of the video. I generally tend to keep the blade pretty flat on the ATG. I will take more notice next time I shave to confirm.
That is one of my best razors - The Friodur with Sambar stag scales. It is a wonderful razor: 8/8 with a worked spine. Just lovely. Took a while to get used to the weight of it, but now we are best of mates!
And yeah, you may have noticed I am a messy shaver. Those bits of lather get everywhere and always annoy the wife...

Thanked: 19JMS: Nope, I was doing it too.
Nice vid Jimbo. Can you give us any details on type of razor, brush, and cream? I couldn't really make it out. Thought that was TOBS Lavender, but I wasn't sure.

Thanked: 1587Sure thing!
Razor: Henckels 8/8 Friodur, worked back, Sambar stag scales (courtesy of Robert Williams I think). Bought from John Crowley a few years ago now. I still thank him every day for it
Brush: Mason Pearson pure badger.
Cream: TOBS Rose.
Strop: Home made Kangaroo leather.
Bowl in sink: some crappy enamelled thing I picked up at a trash and treasure.
Lather Bowl: An old coffee mug that belonged to my wife's grandfather.
