Oh my goodness... Finally. Someone else with a goatee who made a video. (If there is any more, I'll definitely comment on those as well.) This helped TREMENDOUSLY!

The shaving routine greatly simplifies everything. I was going from one cheek to the next then the neck, etc. But this makes a heck of a lot more sense. I'll be trying this next time but in a much, much slower "I'm learning" fashion.

Great job and thanks a bunch for posting that!

There is a fairly famous youtube video of a goatee-weilding fellow using a straight. Hang on, I will try to find it.....

    YouTube - Straight Razor Shave

    There it is!!

    Haha! Great!

I tried the one side fully then the next side method today and it worked out pretty well. Though I am still really shakey on getting the left side entirely. (Strangely enough, most of my nicks/cuts are on the left side. Luckily nothing huge, only 1 the styptic pencil couldn't handle.)

Practice, practice, practice I guess. (This is hijacking the thread, but while I'm at it, might as well... Suggestions for getting the angle right? I know it's a person thing depending on one's face, but is there a way to practice without shaving?)

Not really. I mean, yes, you can practice the angle as much as you want using a balloon or with a breadknife etc., but the only real way to get the angle right for each part of your face is to shave and explore and practice, I think.
