MMMMM Turkey legs...........
You guys have some really great work going on in here :tu
I'm just working on keeping my sanity with the 2 little guys :rofl2:
Whenever I fix a turkey for the kids and I (special dinners), I take a leg, my son takes the other. My daughters take the breast meat. Those women don't know what they are missing. I really wish I could get turkeys that are all dark meat!!
Around here the only time you see turkey legs in the meat cases is around the winter holidays. That's when I stock up.
Something else I don't see anymore and haven't for years is frozen turkey hind quarters.
By the way if you brine cure turkey dark meat and then smoke it, it comes out tasting very similar to ham.
OH! This is the What Are You Working On thread so I'd better show something that I was working on.
Nothing razor related I just needed a way to store 'CLEAN' shop rags and not have dust and crap get on them.
I wanted the next size larger buckets but the small ones were all my local bakery had so I made due. However when they get the larger ones I'll make a new container.
The lids need to be hammered down to keep them on and have a rubber seal so I needed an easy way to retrieve an clean rag. Here's my solution:

Dieseld by the way. I'm the oldest of four. Three boys and a girl (she's the youngest) and we are all right at two years apart. Apparently raising four 'Davis's' wasn't an easy task as later in life my mom had names for every year of childhood. It went like this:
Wonderful One's
Terrible Two'
Terrible Three's
F'ing Fours
F'ing Fives
S**ty Sixes
S**ty Sevens
Awful Eights
Naughty Nines
Terrible Tens
ETC.
Have fun with the little ones! It's all well worth it. Even my mother would tell you so. :tu
And speaking of BBQing, tomorrow I'm firing up the offset cooker to smoke three slabs (40 pounds) of home cured bacon and 12 beef tongues. It's okay if you drool Roy.
:rofl2:
Roy, i bought some plastic paint cans at the hardware store like thoughs. I think they were 2 gal. They seal up like a beast. Hell of a time getting them open again. Looks like you did a fine job on those buckets.
My friend, if I didn't like you so much I think I'd hate you! :w I just hope you haven't consumed all of the bacon and tongues before I get a chance to ride over to your place next year.
You know we've just gotta find you a digital camera so you can post some pictures!
Steve, nice job on those ivory scales. Shaun, those scales with the triceteras are gonna look sweet.
We did some burgers on the patio. So nice to be able to grill again!
And I'm working on using some bluing on a Wosti I'm cleaning up, while still in it's skins. Like thenhardware to much to drill it apart this time..
Enjoy your night men.
One of the razors on the bench right now had black horn scales that were a little scratched and needed some love, but after wet sanding them they are not really a match. I am torn between making new ones, colouring the ones I have and using them like they are.

Personally, I'd play and see if I could get them dyed the same. After all if it doesn't work, you can always make new ones. But it would be some nice bragging rights to show the before and after dyeing if it works.
Just my thoughts
I think I'd try some black leather dye.
