walleyeyeman used Mothers to polish his metal/inlace acrylic brush handles, however I believe he polished them on his engine lathe. Maybe an extra pair of hands and the 'shoeshine' buffing with a rag?

I've cleaned my walleyeyeman brush by just by rubbing it with the mothers and an old tshirt but it never needs much help.

EDIT:

I use my hand to hold the badger hair tight and wrap the hair at the base where they meet the handles with the blue painting tape. This keeps the Mothers off of the hair.

Here is one of his brushes right off of the lathe:

Works like a charm, Roy.
Its what I do when gluing in knots. Tape at the desired depth, glue, n shove in. Once dry, gently remove tape, no mess.
Ta daa !!!

I have some of Ray's brass. Heavy stuff! I dig it as it starts to turn just a bit.
Then, you have to polish it soon! :banghead:

Ray is Top Notch in my book! He does excellent work and is one fussy SOB (I guess being a 4th generation machinist he would be). He has also helped me figure out many projects.

That brush handle that I posted is indeed screwed together, along with epoxied. It's not going to come apart.

I miss him participating here at SRP but I know the reason's and I don't blame him.

Well. I don't know the reasons, but can imagine! :td

He and his son are surely missed! Talent!

I have a couple of his brushes too and I have to say he is a really smart and nice guy with an insane amount of talent to do all kinds of things.

Wow, don't have a lathe like that, but do have some Mothers and the exact same Walleyman brush.

MikeB52 dropped a Shavemac D01-2 band knot in it to replace the knot supplied, it's an amazing brush, but could use a polishing, down stairs I go with a cloth towel, see if I can get the gleam back in the Walleyman brush...one of my favourite brushes....great job Cuda!!!

Tru Oil on wooden scales when given enough coats (a lot of coats/at least in my playing around) gives a finish second to none!

I believe that you use some kind of polish after the coats have had time to dry fully to really make that Tru Oil shine that I'm not familiar with. Yes? No? Maybe so? :shrug:
