I removed a chip from a blade the other day. Then my daughter starting digging through the garbage so it was back to chasing the baby!
I am just farting around in the shop, 30 miles from home, on the days that I feel like it. I'm trying to make a pin router with some added possibilities from a Dremel router table. Start, fart, fumble, and recover! I no longer have access to many of the materials and tools that I used to. So it is becoming a "Junk Yard Dog !" Way more fun and has some wondrous possibilities beaise I have time to think before going for another day.
Enjoy!

I’d love to see pictures of your junk yard dog Richard. By pin router I trust we are talking about a table mounted router with a top arm with a tracing pin in it. Sounds good to me, I have been using router bits with a guide bearing on the top.
I would like to see it myself!
Got my old Skinner together. Imperfect and rustic as I had envisioned.
I like the way the fine steel-wool reveals the grain in the horn.
Not too keen on the more modern-looking silver collars, really.
I stacked 2 vintage ones at the top to match the bottom.
Still, the grind on the blade is more modern as well.
A 'Hot Rod' razor, I suppose. It's growing on me...
Cruddy workbench pics....

Off to find it a honing partner....
Tom I love the silver bolster and the steel wool finish. I wish I could figure out how to make new horn look like that. There is just something about the colour as well as the texture. All in all I’d call that project a roaring success.
Looks great Tom. And that metal on the bottom really look good. Love it.
Router bit with bearing guide are a good idea. They do work well but are not available in the sizes I use.
Butt ugly prototype but it should work. Larger table and the hold down and changeable pin, small diameter rod to be replaced, are removable. You can see the Dremel table through the table. Future holds changes and a better ideas including sleds for special projects.

How's the fishing??
~Richard
Looks like it should be great Richard.
The issue with top guide bearing router bit is the chatter, you rig should not have that issue. I like it.
As for the fishing, this year has been very bad, and I have not gotten many days in, but it sounds like I haven’t missed anything.
Beauty job Tom!
One of the gents is retiring tomorrow after 45 years in the plant.
Thought I’d make him a little farewell token as he was quite helpful to me during my onboarding and training.
First pen turned out of the spoils from my lot purchase.

Click style, which normally are not my favorites, but this style I was curious to turn and see if I liked it.
Suitable for writing his memoirs I hope..
And yes Tom, the ink still flows, hehe.
Cheers.
