Large files work best but most files will work. I have shape a few things by putting them in a drill press and using a file. The spinning help to keep it all even and straight, or true. It’s a very good guggestion.

I like the red Tom. They are looking good.
Thanks, Rez....I really want to shave with that short #22......
Sporty! ;)
Nice work Tom.
I decided I was going to polish a turd and see how far I could get fixing it. LOL.

You can see it the beginning pic the scales had been whittled down at the pivot end to fit the razor, The hone wear is beyond help, the edge was abused badly with the tip worn and a chip plus the shape on the heal. Poor little razor

After about 6 hours of work reshaping and sanding and polishing, This is the outcome. Now I put the edge on a DMT with 3 layers of tape so to reshape the bevel and get it ready, but it hasn't seen the stones yet... I think with a couple layers of tape all the ugly should be banished and it will have a decent bevel once again. I hope!

I even put extra time in getting Austins pins just right. I think I polished this turn back to life. Earned my wings on this one!
My fingers ache and are going to be screaming at me tomorrow but I think it was worth it in the end. What do you know, I do know how to sand a blade when I put my mind to it. ;)
Good one, Jerry! YOU are a brave man! :tu
