Be happy to sell you this one Tom at a premium price! It is very rare you know. :rofl2:

I did get all 3 honed up to a fine edge. Tomorrow will be the test shave. Got good hopes for these as the TPT and AHT (Arm Hair Test) was excellent.

The straight scales on the Frenchy blade. Brass pin and collars with a lead wedge for balance. I think it will do for now...

Slow days at the shop....Got all my cycle work caught-up. Cars are maintained.

Looking to fix-up the remaining French-pointed blades from my display board acquisition.
Some work on tang corrosion on the #s 22, 25, and 26.

Since I had already done the long #27 in slick-black rounded scales with a white wedge, these 3 will get the same treatment. It will take some test-fitting to find scales for all 3.
Hopefully I will find some perfect fits in my box of candidates.

Reuse is not my issue, I'd like to get the damage out, but not sure how. May just keep it with damage if I can't figure it. I feel like this needs to be kept with some of it's age, was really clean when I got it. Thinking a bit of cold bluing them.

I've shaped my own washers with a home made punch and a block of lead. Maybe some thing like that would work.

after shaping the "punch" i made a initial punch in the lead and then drilled a hole in it for a centering pin.

Maybe something like that would work to get the damage out.

Got some nice fits. Took a while. Even found some for the #27 that goes with the others.
All about the same shape, just different lengths.
I see some red paint in the #26 tang stamps. Perhaps they all should get some red there?

All will come apart and sanded/cleaned/polished as needed.
Some of Austin's silver collars for all!
Gonna take some time. As soon as I start something 2 cars come in......

While he's making 'thrust washers' this might be of some help to making your own and then doming them

If you have a drill, vise and a file you would be surprised what you can shape. Chuck whatever you want to make a punch out of in the drill stick the drill in the vise then use the file to shape the end.
