Couple pics of the Theoman Brush.
A little floppy even at 30mm/55mm loft when lathered up, but not skimpy on hairs. A little dense as far as low-cost knots go. I had lather everywhere. Worked out nice. I will need to use it a few more time for break-in but I think this will make a great useable display piece.

After the shave and cleaned up it has a nice splay.

That's Outstanding Jerry!

Now that is a MAN's brush, Jerry! I've got a few "heavy-metal" brushes that I love and treasure. I'm about due for a custom brush myself. I've been thinking about sending one of Maggard's Super Dense 2-Band Badgers I keep hearing about to an up and coming local woodworker doing some serious turning and other woodwork. Enjoy it!

Well.......I have found liver of sulfur won't touch steel.
Reckon to try some vinegar or some black bluing.

I think it is for copper, brass and bronze.

Did some tinkering today on a project that's been on the backburner for a while.
MOP buttons into domed collars. The buttons are a bit imperfect, but the holes are the perfect pin size, smooth and snug.
I used a piece of brass pin, a dremel, some fine files, some fine sandpaper, and some old jeans.
Set up the shop vac very close to catch the dust, and wore a mask and goggles, did it outside.
The first one turned out better, I think because the attachment of the button was not as secure.
Overall though, I'm very happy so far with it, especially since I was being a bit sloppy and hurried.
This camera is terrible and I'll get better pics later.
Here are some pics. The two collars are simply set on the scales for the pic. Scales are special..

Edit: These scales are not finished.

Looks good, MikeT! That old one of mine has recesses in the scale that they sit in.
Perhaps an end-mill in a drill press?

Those look pretty spiffy MikeT

Yes Sir!
That is a detail I would not skip... gotta sink it in.
I designed these based on your collars Tom, maybe try different designs later, but first that classic design.

Looks like you nailed it! A small forstner bit? Drill press?
You have to limit the depth somehow!
