I’m on the fence about your scale swap Jelly, the donors don’t look that great either, but you should see if they clean up.
Nice clean up on the W Day blade Job.
For me the box work continues. I’ll get to some scales soon.

Just listed some nice blades and such on Movember auctions, Boys.
Not much work needed on most!!
I was just looking at those ads Tom, seems they are all in decent shape, likely good candidates for those getting started. I think it was JimmyHAD that said the first step in restoration comes at the time of purchase, buy good ones.
Agreed, some really nice, easy restores in those offerings Tom.
Well done brudder!
Got the possible donor razor apart. Are bent pins a thing with CMon? Both the wedge and pivot pins were bent.
I'm leaning toward using the CA repaired scales, the donor ones had a weird "collar" on one side that really dug into the scales and kind of oversized the pivot hole. It may be more work to clean these up than the originals.

Has anyone had a CA/celluloid repair fail? Just wondering...I've seen the epoxy/celluloid fails, but not CA. I've got a Genco I fixed this way that's been going strong for close to a year. I've got no problem adding a bit of extra strength to this one and leave the Genco as a test.
Honestly unless the scales are very old, I generally don’t spend much effort restoring them.
Hmm, I do have a set of streaked horn scales I made up a while ago that might look good. They're a bit longer and wider than these, but it shouldn't be bad to modify them. Not sure about the white wedge...maybe dark brown or possibly red to match the diamond.

I actually like the way those look. What what do you all think?
They look a bit long to me but as you said, easy to rework them. Or wiat for something else to come along.
The first one that I made was from a scrapped razor. Then there was some interest in them and I forged some tangs purposely for the hooks. I plan to still make some from scrapped 'pattern welded steel' razors, but other than that it makes much more sense to purposely forge the tangs.
