The originals are just a smidge wider than my horn and the end just gets into the wedge hole. I think I'll save these for another project and add a reinforcement to the repaired originals.
I'm thinking of milling a narrow trough across the cracked area and gluing in a piece of a sewing pin. The pin is thin enough to minimize the removal of material and should give it some extra strength while still being somewhat flexible. Or am I about to do something dumb?
Its my Saturday and I'm getting closer to putting some razors together. I ordered some colllars so I will wait for them to come in before I go any farther with the scales.
