Take um out, Jerry.!
Nice Jerry. Now you're making feel like a shlump. Gotta make some scales now. I need to fix my band saw first so I've been stalling. Guess I'll have to step it up.
Yes. Olive wood on the right. I do like the Olive. No band saw is needed for making scales. Sure it makes it easier but a coping saw will do the job. Then a belt sander and elbow grease and your set.
Ive been slacking for so long i wasnt sure how the scales were going to come out. The Gatling gun comes out again!
Belt sander..!! Ha!, mines a piece of 2x6 with a piece of sandpaper thumbtacked to it. :rofl2:
Sounds like I need an upgrade from my 2x4, definitely not enough real estate...
I was having this mornings shave with a French blade I had dressed in some special scales I made out of some stuff Roy had sent me. Wood with plastic injected??? Well, I had left a knot in the scales for the looks and it broke right at the knot...

I really like the looks of these so I went to town and picked up some brass to line the scales with.

I had never done this but I figured it can't be too hard.
So here is a couple of pics of what I did and the end product. Not perfect, but for my first set and not starting from sctratch I think it turned out ok. I will have to take the blade back to the hones as I know the edge touch the table at least once.

Really nice save Jerry.
Pete <:-}
Nice save Jerry. Sometime when I get to a store that sells those sheets of brass I will pick some up. I like lined scales and wedges, particularly with brass and silver.
I'm thinking I might try the liners again in the future. I did find Tin sheets too. Tin and brass and layered wedges like some others have done are now on the radar. Thanks guys.
I also honed up three razors this weekend. My collection is down to 5 razors needing test shaved, the five I'm making scales for and the rest of my collection is shave ready. Its been a long haul to get them all shave ready.
