Cranked this one out in record time. But the scales were already hydrated previously, so that saved bunches of time right there.

Took the blade down with 400, 600, 800, 1000, then 3M and 0000 steel wool, then polished with MAAS.

Pinned with Austin's collars, brass rod, and original wedge.

Still a few pits, but at least it doesn't look like the surface of the moon anymore.

Looks even better in hand, with the two different scales. Definitely shows off the blade.!

Off to the hones, gents. Shouldn't take long, she's been sanded beyond the original bevel.

Scales for the Wosty have been repaired, and dyed, and reside in the oil bath.

The Freddy Reynolds scales have had the delamination removed, repairs made in epoxy, let cure for a coyple days. Should have them smoothed back out, spots reapplied, and in the oil bath by this evening.

Started on the Freddy Reynolds blade. Did a bunch of sanding to both sides of the tang, tail and spine so far, looks like its taken the brunt of the deep, black pitting thru out the blade. So I'll have to live with some pitting in those areas, mostly.

But so far I've got the hone wear removed from the show side, and can work on cleaning up the pitting on the face.

Scales look great Mike. Is it hair dye you painted on the scales to create the brown spot pattern?

Yes, a medium brown hair dye. Applied with paintbrush and let set for an hour or so.
