Nice work Mike!
Beautiful as usual Mike.
One last thing for Nipper. Almost forgot that there was a box for the Frederick Reynolds.
The lid had a hole in it, so I cut a piece of business card and glued it inside, then used pieces of a rotten box to reconstruct the top to resemble the original condition, using Elmer's glue.

A bit of touch up paint blotted with a finger to dull the shine.

Some shoe polish to bring it all together.

Nice work Mike. I have used cereal box and school paste it in then put tissue paper over the top before the show polish. I'm worked pretty well but the tissue paper was a real bi-atch . Note to self: Dear self, Next time size and cut the tissue paper BEFORE applying the paste.
Next, will be something I picked up from Leonard a couple years or so, ago.

Not that its in horrible shape, hell, I've been shaving with it.! I just want it to look a lot better, so maybe the other old guys in my collection will acknowledge his stature in the realm of Sheffield.
Got it pulled apart and scales cleaned up.
Sanded from 220 grit to 600, then 0000 steel wooled, and hand polished with starbrite, plastic scratch remover, and polish.

Was pleased to find the show side was black streaked, honey horn. And a bit unhappy that the back side is a black donor scale from who knows where.
Still looks cool, and will pin it back up as is, being I don't have a donor scale to take its place, nor do I want to dye the front side black, as it was originally.
The only way I can tell that its not the original, is because the original pin holes have been filled, and new ones drilled to fit the original scale. That and I had to reprofile/shape it a bit more to resemble the original, though its slightly short in total length, but only at the pivot end. No biggy....someday a donor will come along, or a whole different set could be in the future.
The front scale is pretty cool. Too bad you cannot bleach the black to make it streaked. There was a process back in the day that involved some less than friendly chemicals. I believe Neil and Geezer have discussed it in the past and someone else that I cannot remember the name of. One of the chemicals is used in developing pictures if I have the process remembered correctly
Found this info about hair dye removers:

Haven’t tried any of these myself.
