After cleaning up the original wedge, it was too thin to allow the blade to sit at the proper depth in the scales. I needed around 1/32" more clearance, so I lined each side with .016 brass, for a perfect fit.

Some sanding from spine to edge, gives me a visual on where I'm sanding while undercutting and removing the hone wear when sanding from toe to shoulders.

I could speed this up with the dremmel and greaseless wheels, but that's more of a chance to slip over the spine and cause more damage. Plenty of work to do as is, don't need any more. New Years right around the corner.
