I've been away for a bit and am new to your strops Paul. What kind of material are you using, is it like a nylon webbing type thing, cotton, or a canvas linen thing. Just curious, they look really nice.
This is a heavy cotton canvas belt webbing. This one is 2" wide and made from a gait belt. I have also used a regular men's belt, the kind that comes with some brands of cargo pants.
This is the one I use between stones while honing.

It's just a belt looped around the towel rack. Nothing fancy.
I keep it on the other side of the cabinet from my preshave strops just to help keep any stray grit from getting on my regular strops.

Not exactly my finest work, the inside could use more fine tuning. But it's box like, and is made out of wood, so I'm gonna call it a success. I also learned a lot, so when I go to attempt this again for one of my Jnats, I think it'll go a lot smoother. :D My dad really liked it, says I should get some little hinges and a clasp for it. Food for thought I suppose.

Thanks David. My lovely bride got it for me . She loves me. She also hates clutter with at least the same amount of fervor.
Yes, it is all razor related stuff. The small drawers are mainly razors at the top divided by origin then the lower ones have some soaps, brushes, strops and hardware and project razors in various stages of restoration. The large drawers at the bottom are full of stones and honing stuff along with larger restoration stuff and, of course, a junk drawer.
When you close it how do you keep one stone or the other from falling out?Quote:
