Does this mean no 7 day set?
Think this means a 7 day set!
Well, I took the Genco/Case apart & ground the blade down. now I need to shorten the scales. I made the blade rounded but it does't look like it in the pics.

Actually, I'm quite pleased with the blade like it is..........:beer2:
Cool to make the shorties in the original scales! Got to do something with them! :tu
I used to go to the drag races & when we would walk around in the pits where all the top fuelers were, I would tell my buddy how I love the smell of nitromethane in the morning....................
Now I was just making a rough cut of those scales & I was thinking, eew, that smell of nitrocellulose..............you can sure tell it with that camphor smell!

I cut 'em right at the pivot pin hole. Now I need to smooth 'em out & get that x mark out of 'em someone put in it.
The Fluid Steel shorty!
Well, I did as much as I could with my scales & then I posted my SOTD. It is mocked up for now as you can see. I didn't even unpin it at the wedge. The only thing is the scales are a little lighter where I shortened them & sanded the X off. I would like to get the color of the scales to match better if I could but i don't know if I can do that with these. Maybe I'll use these for now & make some better ones later. I also need to sand the blade some to get some stand off of it but other than that I like it!

Maybe I should unpin it all the way & sand the scales all over.
Had a little time before leaving for work, so I made the template for the inlay.
1. Taped a piece of wax paper to a box.
2. Lay inlay on top of wax paper.
3. Cover the inlay with a piece of scotch tape, folding one end of the tape to facilitate a handle, to remove the template from the wax paper.
4. Draw correlation lines on the tape, (this helps to realign the inlay to the template, once the template is attached to the scales) then carefully cut the inlay out of the tape.Attachment 231675Attachment 231676
Well done on that hypnotic boxed set Tom. Great work.
