What are you working on?

That turned out just perfectly Tom! I love my ran tan as well, but it is nowhere near the eye candy you've created.
Finger notches, translucent red, and that inlay really do all work very well together.
Glad to have helped a bit on the build, sorry the blade rusted while you waited on me..

No worries, Mike. I have quit buying much and am working on things I have.
It was a fun respite at the right time and will now be a fine shaver,,,,,I suppose! :D

Bloody Fine work! I knew you'd make it look better than new. :beer1:

Finished up the strop and happy with it now. Got the leather clean and took what I though was the best section. I used a fine file and went a couple passes along the edges lightly to clean up where I cut it. Cleaned up the hardware on the wire wheel and replaced the screw with a slightly longer one to accommodate the thicker leather and linen hose. Used super glue around the hole and on the ends of the linen to prevent unraveling and filed that smooth too. Wood-burned a "xiaotuzi" logo in the leather just for kicks. I think it's gonna work and anyhow I had fun!

Mostly just rubbing with a damp cloth then getting tiny amounts neatsfoot oil into it and rubbing with damp cloth again every day over the course of a week and a half before cutting it. No soaps or anything like that. It's clean....probably clean...pretty clean I think...yeah it's fine :shrug:.

Took the scales to the heat lamp last night. Sprayed them down with water, and heated them till they were hotter than I could touch, and pressed them between two pieces of corian.
Let them sit over night, unclamped this morning.

Their a lot better..!!
