I reckon you needn't bother, Boots. We don't roll like this down here, either.

Well ended up doing a whole tear down of the henckels. I went to tighten the pivot pin, never saw the small crack on the scales and well the rest is history. Walked away with a cracked scale. It also had a lot of mystery goop at the pivot along with some active rust. Pin at toe end was also broken. After some choice words when the kiddo wasn't around and some super glue the scale seemed to be sorted out. We'll see how long it holds. New silver nickle pins and washers. Other than that I gave the blade and scales a little scrub with Maas and that's it. Might go custom scales in the future, who knows.
Honed it up this morning. Spent some good time on the norton 1k. The edge had a lot of pitting, more than I thought. Once I got to good steel it was smooth sailing. Worked up through the 4 and 8k and finished on the 12k ss. Put it on the modular paddle strop and put it a good session on the English bridal hanging strop. It's popping hairs like crazy. I'll give it the business tomorrow. Should be pretty good.

So here's an update on those acrylic scales. It's a Clauberg "BLUE STEEL".
