Well, if that stabilizer is run down into the edge, it will 'thunk' down every time you make a stroke and make a fast frown there. It has to be gone, IMO.
Outback will relate. It seems he took a Dremel cut-off or something and chopped a slash in the bottom of the stabilizer to the edge, angled toward the toe.
Instant gone pesky stabilizer! ;)
Incidentally, if anyone wants a few blades to play with, let me know. I have a few left. I will have more soon.

He showed a pair in one of these threads. I thought it was genius to get a worn one working good that way. Too damn simple! :)

Yup, the Dremel, with either the cut off, or one of the stone bits will do a good job, just be mindful of your rotation with respect to the blade. You want to be grinding such that you are spinning off the blade towards the tail, if you know what I mean. Were it your tires, you'd be driving towards the tail kinda thing, not the toe.
