Wow, that is simple. I thought there must be more to it than that. I bet that fills the ol' kitchen with an interesting smell! I'm going to have to keep an eye out for a horn I can cook. :D
You'd have to cut the horn length wise, first. Just cut it in half I suppose. Never did it myself, but cuddarunner posted a video of some gentlemen working with horns.
They cut them , heated them in a fire till mailable, and made things from them, don't remember what, I was more interested in the procedure.
Well while this isn't about making scales, it is about how to work with horn. While the method of heating is a bit different, the clamping is the same!
I hope all will enjoy.:tu

Thanks Roy
Very cool process that is. Thanks for sharing.
I re read that brush thread and chuckled at some of the comments made. Ah yes, the o ring debacle.. Smile every time I use that floppy ole brush still. And got some nice words from Walleyeman Ray in there as well. Didn't even know at that time how amazing his brushes were and how much I would grow to want one..
Chatted with him a few times after, as well as Bill about brush builds and learned a lot..thankfully.
Yeah! Bill, Ray AND his son were regulars. Great and talented guys. :D

Flossed out the pivot, tightened up the pins and gave the blade a polish.
