I certainly hope not, Tim!
I also have an old Jeri's hair tonic bottle which says 'Loaned by' on the bottom! :hmmm:

Good evening,
It's been a while since I've been able to work on anything but I finally finished up my antalope.Attachment 247890

I decided to use zebra wood and hollow out the center so I could see the etching.
I honed it up a couple of days ago, it's a great shaver. When I found it the scales where trashed but the blade only needed a little love.
It makes my head hurt to look at those cool scales and think of all the times I worried about splitting normal wood scales that I was working on! That's really neat, great work and a fine blade there.
I am going out on a limb and say that all of the old diamond steel razors of that shape were all made by the same people. I have one without the antelope stamp, and it is a very good shave.
I went with the zebra because it was the hardest wood I had. The first set I did like that was with wenga and a brass and zebra wedge.Attachment 247892Attachment 247893
There are several threads out there about that, Shaun. I suppose they could be dug out.
Sadly, they begin with something else and smartassed me says it looks as an Antelope. I think lots of them are.
No mistaking the tang, spine, and point/grind.
I have only had one, not such a great physical example, though it shaved a treat.
Would love to have a nice 13/16 one!
Sadly, have not seen one in a decade...
Here we go! DUH! :banghead:
Griffon! Geeze!

After using my Boker since last December, it wasn't delivering the great shaves that it did when Lynn honed it new. So over lunch I gave it a work out on my hones, finishing up on the coticule. As I walked to my shave cave I noticed that "Days of Our Lives" was on the TV. I paused a moment to look at the actors thinking to myself, "Those guys really need a shave." Anyhoo my test shave after lunch went great. My Boker is mowing whiskers like a champ again.
