I recently got this brush and seeing the pictures of threaded handles I had at first thought this would be threaded.
But when I look at it closer it seems that the metal is rounded/burnished to hold it on.
Any thoughts on how I should go about taking this apart?

Both those Simms I just posted were threaded, but I super glued them together. Although it's nice to be able to take them apart for restoring, I really don't want them to come apart.Quote:
I think you are right. I was wondering if the threaded ones were also burnished....
That handle of yours looks really nice. If it were mine, I'd keep everything together, drill out that old knot, polish everything up and put a new knot in. I do suspect that the black part of the handle is painted wood though. Be careful with that.
Yes, It feels like it wants to unscrew 1/8 to 14 turn.
Holy Moly Tom, you got that car opened right up. That looks... like it's a heck of a way to spend the afternoon. Good luck with that!
Mike the scale will be a treat to see done. Judging by your past accomplishments in the wood and tru-oil department, gonna be spectacular! Hey... that wood look familiar
Eric I think this is the scales archive you are looking for http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...e-archive.html Very cool scales by the way!
Nice work on the brushes, those are going to be cool when complete. I like when old handles can be reused, makes them live again.
Yes Tuzi that's it. I'll have to put it there tomorrow at work that is where my pic is saved. All I have is my phone so...
