sanded from 120 grit through to 2k on wet & dry then 3K, 4k & 5k sppnge backed type sanding discs
final polish with Ren. Wax gets me this finnish

once finally assembled it will get some more polishing when I do the pins & give it its final clean up to give it a bit more shine

still working on the blade @ 600 grit with the WD40 but I think I may have to drop down a grit or 2 to speed the process a bit
    hope you enjoy

So finished off the son-inlays str8, for now as I'm not 100% sold on the blade finish so it might change yet as I still have a month odd to go,
Finish is wet & dry to 2k then sponge disk to 5k grit then back to a 1500 grit for the scratch finish to try match the finish on the original tang grind etc

You could easily use the same idea with any drill press for straight lines
The free hand lines are still a PITA

Size: 29.2 KBFinally finished this Biirthday present for the Son-inlaw, since he already has a badger brush & bowl, I only needed a couple of items to complete a str8 kit for him.
So this is it a John S. Holler "Celebrated" 6/8" square point wedge,
Idunit camel bone & abalone inlaid black buffalo horn scales,
Camel bone wedge with brass liners
brass Pins with brass & SS washers

meranti pine box wax coated carved and lined with craft foam & fluffy material (brain blank),
    Ilinoise 835 strop cleaned up,
and my Original big daddy English bridle to use as a starter strop so he won't nick the thin 835
