I don't figure there were but a few American razors back when Old Ironsides sailed.
Reckon they used big old British razors with anchors upon them!

Oh yeah the abyss is a great movie! And jaws, that movie I'd why I'm scared of swimming in the ocean. Scuba, okay no problem... the beach, no way! Lol
Okay I saw some tung oil at home depot but was unsure. Need to find renwax. Where do I find that?
Think tung and then renwax would be good?

Renwax won't hurt anything, however it hails from England. Taylor's 1000 on the fleabay usually has it.
A small can lasts a Loooong time, so don't worry about cost in that regard.

Yep, good stuff. I think that might be where I got mine. I've had it for a long time now. It's a 200ML container & a little goes a long way!

2 more pages since I was last on, sheesh. Chatter boxez.
Wow Tom, great piece of historical lumber there sir. Awesome! Would suit a great restore from the era. Either side of the Allied fleets really.
Took all of the day to finish not razor related chores so the cottage needs to wait one more day. Going to spend a bit more time on the rear stab as I think mine is interfering a bit with the heel honing as well. Lift it up just a skitch more.
Spent a good hour on a magnahone last night starting to pull in the bevel with three layers of tape. He's some hard steel that's for sure.
    Cheers.

The forum is a boring mess of late, Mike! What are we to do? I thought there may be more stabilizer left from previous grinding!
You have my sympathies! Don't lift it up! grind it south!

A few swipes upon a hone down there tells-all!

Amen,, grinding it down,, smoke break.
Regarding the forum, yes, must be a lot of folks dealing with summer as it has been quiet from some regulars.
Happily I have good cell plan so I can surf from the dock the rest of the week.

While I hone with Ontario lake water..
wonder what the grit rating is on zebra mussels??hehe

Dammitt! Honing with Lake Ontario water ON the Lake! Nice! Lots of razor history surrounds you.
    Enjoy the Vacay!

Well, I would have loved to join you guys in a project. I have been looking for one that needs some serious restoring but I can't find it.
