Yeah Tom. When this thread first started I would have more than likely seen it but I had some issues come up here at home plus my best friends mother died & so I had a funeral to go to & a lot of other things. I've been looking for one I know I have somewhere..................

Oh same here Joel..............I just had some personal issues to deal with. I do have some blades that the scales were broken so bad, they were missing pieces. I have 3 Clark & Hall blades, a W Greaves & a Joseph Rodgers & Sons all needing scales. These are just a few but my oldest.............
I got the round toe Clark & Hall for less than $30 last year because it had broken scales. I don't think anyone ground it that way either, it doesn't appear to be ground on...........a much rarer version not seen hardly. That's the only round toe I've seen.

The Joseph Roger&Son would make a prime candidate for restoring.
Keep seeing the scales I made for my Fredricks ,in honey horn for that blade.Mike

Mike, I did find an old James Barlow & Sons that could use some restoring. The blade has some rust on it & it is in honey type faux tortoise scales but the horn is cracked inside like a lot of those do. It's ashamed they can't be fixed. I never tried soaking any like that in neatsfoot oil though. Here's the round point Clark & Hall when I first got it:

I wouldn't mind doing the Clark & Hall but I would need to make some scales for it. Here's a Frederick Reynolds I did some time back:

Yeah Mike, that one was rough when I first started but I took it apart. The original blade was cracked but I got my hands on another blade just like it. I then sanded the scales inside & out through progressions & polished it by hand with some Maas. It came out really nice.

Ya'll keep talking about scales... I've got a nice I-XL and honey horn blanks that are itching to get together.
Smarter than I look or, not as dumb as I look. Whichever you prefer.
