Tapping it in... what exactly is this?
I did my first lead wedge yesterday. Well I put them in before on simple restores, but yesterday I used a wedge from the parts bin, sanded it to size... easier than expected.
Well there are very very slight places where it doesn't touch the scales perfectly..
Is this why you "tap it in"? ... fill those spaces? Bend it to form?

    Shorty in shoes.
Man this thing is cool as hell. Really suprised by it.

I did manage to put a couple small dents in the scales while pinning. [emoji22]

    But she's still a cuttie.!!! [emoji39]

I'll get her honed tomorrow for the evening shave. [emoji6]

    Default New butchered WB recovery

Got this safely taken apart tonight I'm happy to report.
Nasty grind marks all along the edge. I don't know what people were ever thinking putting these to grinding wheels made for knives??

Some bug bites along the edges of the scales, but a nice, albeit faded inlay worth saving. So going to try some more epoxy mixes, maybe even apply a bit of vacuum to this set, Will see how they look after some initial cleaning.
