FWIW when I create my scales I always try to have the width at the pivot align or flow into the tang width as well. To my eye it just flows better. You shortened them scales up nicely but they need more curve on the inside on a tighter radius than the original length to really 'pop' with that great short!
    Great job so far man!
Okay cool, thanks for the tips, Ill work on the shape more, I was rushing to get it done, was a little upset about taking so long!

Mine is a 12 month rule. There have been times though when I've subsequently looked for something and it's mysteriously disappeared.
The 7700. It came with an assortment of attachments and that was what caught my eye. I actually put it on my Amazon wish list thinking it was a long shot. I honestly thought I was more likely to receive the coping saw or ball peen hammer that were also on the list.

Mike T, That is a great looking Torrey. Nice save! It reminds me of certain Swedish razors I have seen.
I too am astonished at how quick you did the work.

There's a Henckels 78 1/2 which is available on a local Auction site for roughly USD18 but has a nice chip out of the toe. Supposedly with bone scales as well.

If the scales are bone, I wouldn't want to shorten them, so would have to make new scales and then leave the originals for some project in the future.

You think it would make a good starter project?

    G'day gent.
That's got the makings of a lovely shorty Henckel thug. I would bet those to be horn, not bone scales. And at the price point you mentioned, a good deal and a good project.
I have a couple of henckels en route as well for some project work. A 72 1/2 inox and a 14.
Couple weeks out still, but fun winter work I reckon.
    Cheers.

Here is that Torrey that was broken at the toe. I had some ugly horn scales from another blade that was rusted beyond saving, and the horn scales were broken at the pivot so perfect.
Shortened and sanded down, used a wedge from spare box.
Here is a mock up, I will pin it tomorrow so the scales are soaking overnight in neetsfoot oil.
    Wow!!
    It looks soooo saweeet!!
