I have never had good luck with any of the cheap tubes of epoxy sticking to horn. Are you using any particular epoxy or prepping your horn in any particular way?

I will be roughing up the mating surfaces with 80 grit then going with a jbweld transparent 2 part made for plastic Shaun. Sticks very well to horn, in my two prior attempts anyway.
Longevity still to be determined as they are both restores from this year. I tried mixing ground up horn with it the last time and didn't like the results so will be trying a black ink I hope to be compatible and will post some good macro close ups.
Best epoxies I have used outside of the industrial devcon products, or ciba geigy epoxies.

I have used cold cure for other applications, that I want an opaque black. It was easy to achieve with the smallest amount of graphite powder.

    Graphite's a great idea!
    Hadn't thought of trying that.
I'm slowly putting together a vacuum and pressure pot system for scale and handle burl/acrylite blanks predominantly, but the potential for scale saves exists as well. Thinking a good, runny marine grade epoxy, gel coat quality. Some thick vinyl sheeting and a green sand form to act as the mould and it could give some good results.
Some of the winter projects I will be working on though so I am getting way ahead of myself.

I have used both CA glue and aryldite 2 part epoxy on horn with no problems
I just sand if possible and clean with acetone to remove any oils ( natural or neetsfoot ) from the horn then apply the glue, and all is good so far

B52, that's one of my next things on my wish list a vacuum system for stabilizing wood like maple & such. The Dorko looks astonishing Mike. My 400 blade is different & yours is much more beautiful. You did a great job!

    Look into the "west systems"
