It took me 10 little Dremel sanding drums to cut that barbers notch. I chucked it in the drill press and just kept wetting it and monitoring it. I takes a little effort to manipulate hardened steel.

You do that Shaun. I'd like to shake your hand as well. I suspect Tom lives maybe 25 miles away from me at the most. I can't be for sure though but he does live in the Houston area.

Kudo's as well Shaun. That Bingham looks like it was meant too. My wife doesn't appreciate the effort to look like we weren't there in the first place. I do however, so thanks for posting those.
Nice work on the Reynolds toe damage as well. So love the FR razors..
I love the little dremel drums. Chuck one in the lathe at 500 rpm sometimes when I am working on a reshape. Keeps the drum presented just right for the job at hand!

    The John Bingham back together.
I sanded it quite a bit and hit it hard with steel wool to get some of the deep black stain out.
I left quite a bit of the pitting behind, I was mostly trying to kill the active rust.
Cleaned it with nail polish remover and wrap it in a paper towel, then soaked the paper towel with Jax patina black.
It hung out for about an hour and then I lightened it a little with some 2K and WD-40.
Oddly enough it looks pretty close to as found. Except without the active rust.
    Damn brother.
That does look fresh from the wild, but has that its been taken cared of/ but still being used after many generations of great shaves.

    Very, very exquisite indeed !!

I found these to last alot longer for me, when I've reshaped razors.

Same way, chucked in a drill press.

Hang onto 'em for now. I'll get 'em from ya. I'm going to be sending something your way when I get a chance to go through some things.
Yep, too bad you just came across them. I'm like that. I have things I've forgotten I have until I start digging through things.

    That will look sweet.

    Hmmm. Amber? Glass?
    Same thing huh.

Should have something to help put it together, by the time everything is ready.
