If the sides are ok, what if you use your Dremel with a sanding wheel kinda like a grinder & go back & forth up & down the spine?

I don't know though, you're right about the stropping.

Do a bevel set without tape, that will knock off the area that touches the strop. Then blue it and put it together. A bass club eh, how come bass clubs are fine but seal clubs on the other hand...
I know bad joke but I could't stop myself.
Took a lot longer to dial in the pixel size on my Estas logo than I expected, but I am glad I spent the time to get it to the exact size desired.

After three passes I was happy with the depth achieved.

And after a quick sand and scraping of the cavity to remove the char I could do a test fit.

Pretty satisfied with this. May get this one rebuilt today.
Cheers..
Absolutely amazing.
That's fantastic. Now you have me thinking of taking my new Boker Silver Steel with the white scales to my jeweler buddy and see if he can do my initials in either old English or German script.
Now!!! Will it cut intricate inlays from brass or silver, maybe MOP. then you will have reached stardom.
Unbelievable job Mike.
My hat comes off to you.
The only time it comes off is for sleep, showers, and....you know [emoji6]
Uncharted territory Lazer Mike...you blazed your own trail! The coolest!
Thanks gents.
This doesn't have the power for brass or silver cutting, might etch it enough to use hand tools on but won't cut it. Need to get a 100watt laser fir that and I just can't see the 30k spend being worth it.
Richard gave me a neat idea regarding making electrical tape templates with it for possible sand etching of blade stamps which I might try on a few old clunkers.
I see the small size of this unit becoming a restricted sooner than expected..
If I build a bigger table, I may end up destroying a scanner bed to do it.
Benz, try engraving shops for the initials idea, may be less expensive than the jeweler with the same quality of results.
