Plus the Yankee Doodle thing...
I thought the original had a nice curve to it from that pic I found on an old thread Tom.
I straightened the inlay for the picture to prevent lines from being cut thinner than they should be so the redone swordplay will be flatter profile than the original. Couldn't think of any other way to eliminate the effect of curved lines from taking a straight on shot of a curved surface screwing up the burn.
Hoping it'll still look pretty good, if not OEM anymore. Going with a brass wedge instead of black wood on this one as well.
Well, at least I have parts so far. I have a scanner, a multi function printer, a dvd player & a lot of different capacitors & resistors. I also have an extra scanner glass from another printer I took apart awhile back. I'm glad I didn't throw it away yet!
Whoa, light saber throwdown!
Seriously, I think there would be some SERIOUS hardware/software issues, even if you could get a strong enough laser going, Steve.
Seems Professor Mike figured that out as his seems to work off his computer? I think?
If Mike throws in the towel and bites the bullet, You KNOW all the avenues have been exhausted! :rofl2:
:jedi:
The computer drives it and runs the imaging software, and will on steve's unit too. Need to run a separate power supply to drive the laser, but my next upgrade will be a bigger printing area so Stevens on the right track with the scanner bed. Wouldn't need more than that size for any projects I can think of.
I've been spending the night getting the edges and depth better on this scale. Tried a reduced laser intensity setting to get crisper edges, in theory, but at the trade off of less depth of burn. And no do overs. Couldn't risk resetting and trying to reburn once I removed it so a better jig is definitely in order in the butcher shop north..for returning to reburn if needed.
Every job you learn on..
