The scales look great but your post got me thinking. I wonder how it would look to possibly engrave the brass as in putting a monogram or design there.
Good for adhesion.

Someone has already thought of most all of my ideas but I have to keep trying.

I was thinking of a more classier look in general than a novelty.
I think outback was referring to a Novelty like this?

Neat idea to engrave the brass, or liner for sure, thanks. Got me thinking now.
And Tom, are those actual old pictures in there or a silk screen print of some kind.
Very cool design..

I think actual old pics, Mike!
The photos on my razor were actual photographs laminated to the back of the scales and coated with black paint. Problem was that the celluloid was rapidly deteriorating and I had to trash the whole thing....Drat!

Ya. Worried about these in a while. Been slathering them with silicone.
Might wind-up clearing them.
These are getting hard to see. I have seen them with horses, pigs, sheep, etc. People's names.
A part of razor-history.
I wonder if I could lay down a skin coat of urethane, then little pictures, then more urethane on top?
Clear or lightly tinted urethane in a 6" tray then trim out the scales,,pull vacuum then hit it with pressure to cure,,, I think I could make those,,,
:hmmm:
