Took a few hours to get it ground and smoothed out.
Used a couple different type pencil grinders in the dremmel, a small, pocket sized whetstone, and some 1000 grt. W&D paper on the eraser end of a #2 pencil. :nj

The finishing on the edges of the toe came out very nice too. A fine job my friend!
Fixed up a set of busted Bakelite scales for the Tadross tonite.
Started by taping the scales together to keep things even, then with the use of the dremmel and a drum sander, I reshaped the pivot end of the scales. A file made short work of matching the existing bevel on the scales, followed with 600/1000 WD paper, and a polish with Starbrite, plastic scratch remover, and a leather wheel in the dremmel.
Pinned with silver/nickle rod, and SS under collar washers, and the lead wedge, salvaged from Benz's, Diller. :nj

Those shorties are sweet. Still have that NOS factory-busted Herder short with brown bog oak.
From MikeT back in this thread somewhere....
Better dig that out. I have not seen MikeT in some time.
Hmm, I don't seem to recall that one. He did send me some, but so did Steve. I'll have to look around.
