My jeweler friend and I swap work back and forth. He has engraved my initials on several special projects of mine before. He is also a certified watch maker and services all of my dial micrometers for me. In return I do specialized threading for custom gold wedding bands in his shop on my metal lathe. Quite a neat working relationship.

Once it cured, I wiped down with acetone quickly and repeatedly to remove all surplus ca residue.

Then I buffed everything up on a white Tripoli wheel, even the inlay, without grab so I am quite satisfied with the way the inlay sat down into the scale.

Happy with the first two projects that the Etchmaster 2000 helped out on. Look forward to seeing what else it can help with in this restoration pastime.
Thanks for the ideas that float around in here. Help me immeasurably.

WOW! So all you need is a really smart, talented dude with a little laser engraver!

    Beautiful outcome, Mike! Brilliant!

That is gorgeous! It's one of those things I used to look at and wonder how it was done, then I started following this thread. I've learned a lot. Thanks all!

    PS -- I won't be building a laser.

Yeah! Probably won't be doing any gold-plating, filing jimps, either!

What I WILL be doing is gathering up some things to send to Mike soon!
