Nice to see your seizure inducing experiments back online Tom!

Wonder if a rotary tumbler would work on blades as badly rusted as that one Mike?
Been wondering about that if, with abrasives in it, on a vfd, would it clean razor without totally fouling the edge....
I have some sand blasting media, an empty pickle jar and a vfd, so might just run another experiment to find out. I have a case, red imp, that is beyond salvation and would make a great test subject for the tumbler..
Maybe run a strip of electrical tape along the edge of the bevel to protect it and give it a spin.
    Cheers.

I received a couple I got really cheap. They were separate deals but I know the blades on each one don't match the scales because of the age of the scales don't match that of the blades but the one in the dark scales is an 11/16" George Wostenholm & Sons but it does not say Sheffield on it so it has to be an earlier one. Also both blades protrude through the bottoms of the scales. I now have a couple sets of good scales to use on a couple of my Clark & Hall blades or an early W.Greaves & Sons.

Also last night I had a hard time CA'ing the thrust washers I made offset but I put a piece of pinning material through each scale & glued them down & pressed so any excess would come out from under the washers. Sadly I was unsuccessful so I'll keep trying. I may not have made them offset enough.
    It has me puzzled.
Maybe I put them on the wrong way (offset might be opposite from what it should be) but I had them marked on the thicker side so i thought!

Today is Jonathan's birthday. I wrote him earlier because he mentioned "Happy Birthday to Me" in What Are You Working On & he replied it was today.
    Happy Birthday Jonathan!
Geez, I usually look on the main forum page to see if anyone has a birthday but today I've gotten sidetracked so many times..................

When I replied to him, I told him I was going to spread the word to my Brothers In Blades here.

Nice score on the early scales Steve. Those look to be in very good shape and should touch off those too two razors nicely.

Tom I find it amazing that 90% of the striped scales I have seen have been in your possession. I like them, they are a little different, and far more rare than I expected from the first time you posted a bunch. It is hard to see what blades you have planned for those, I mean I saw the blades but was not able to see the markers marks.

    Thanks Shaun.
Tom must have scored 'em when they were dirt cheap & he must be sitting on a few! I think I saw one not too long ago & it went for a pretty good amount of money, more than I would pay.....

Har! Correct on all accounts, but I have abandoned the 7 day set idea as these scales come from Genco/Geneva and a few of them are too nice to unpin. Hard to find more.

Since I have pairs and 7-day sets, I will put these thin Germans with Daffy to make a 4-day set.
    Have an old 4-razor box.

Just need to make it as confusing as possible!

I have an A.J. Jordan Old Faithful 4 day box I showed quite awhile back. It had a cloth type hinge but I have found some nice little brass hinges which I'll use. I need to get a couple more A.J. Jordan Old Faithful razors & it will be good to go. I don't care if they don't match but hopefully one day, I'll have 4 matching ones.
You're already making me dizzy Tom!
