Good news izzzzz as soon as I finished, Austin (ajkenne) sent me some teeny washers to go under these collars which will give support and eliminate the need for all that work I did on them underneath. He says they will be included with the collars now.
As SOON as I had it pinned-up I went to the mailbox and there they were!
Always a day late and a dollar short....That's me!
More good news. Old Daffy was a bit too loose at the pivot for my taste, so I unpinned the top, 2 new collars polished with the undercollars Austin sent me and went back together. The ones without the undercollars had flattened a great deal, so no wonder it did not get tight enough!
Got it SUPER tight! Just a TEENY bit of pin protruding is necessary

Sorry I mentioned 30k previously in a different post. I'm overdue for an eye exam & I know my eyeglasses need new lenses because it has changed a little.
Those are some gorgeous scales. I hope you can get a mirror polish on them.
Yeh they came up a treat.
I bought these years ago for my 7/8th Hart Steel , very hard to get it dialled in but when it gets there its in a class all of its own.

They stopped producing Pearlex scales ,I guess because they are too soft and misshape?

I tried to re shape mine but made a hash of it ,not realising how soft they get under heat. Nearly threw them away.

Then I got into restoration and decided to cut them down and use them on a shorty. I had to re heat them first and to my amazement they popped back into original shape.
So I decided to remove the connecting wedge part , turning it from an all in one scales to separates with a wedge .

So far so good but I wont count any farmyard animals just yet. (might find a crack and it ends up a 5/8ths)
    Aluminium wedge/ nickel pins.
Plus I haven't honed it in about a year because the wooden all in one scale made me cringe .

B52, might as well get a disco ball mirror to go with the retractable brass pole!
