Aluminium wedge / Nickel pin/ Steel collars.

The tip of the blade is so close to the wedge only air could pass between. The Hart pivot screw equals no lateral movement .

I just honed it up , it took over an hour. I had issues reaching the edge on one side at the tip. Its ready for action now.
Nice work Job! great shimmer to those skins.

    Hope the shaves divine..

Getting there slowly. Still need to shape it more, than scales, proper cleaning etc.
But moving along with big help from Tom on materials

Yeah, I know Shaun, I was trying to get him to surface. I think I first met him when I bought something from him on the bay a couple years ago & we started talking & found out we were on the same forum. We've had some other business dealings as well.
    Thanks anyway!

Thanks Andrew, appreciate the comments from all you guys. It's been all hand file work for the last few nights as I get closer to the final profile. Trying to flow the ivory and brass together into some close approximation of what it may have looked like originally. Course I had nothing to reference except other blades in my collection so it's really about just getting it to 'feel right'.

Not a fan of how they kill for the material, but I do appreciate how nice ivory is to work with. Files, and shapes so very predictably under the tools. Taking it leisurely as the materials almost exude a kind of "take your time" sort of vibe. Power tools and dremels seem just wrong on this one.

Right on B52. I wouldn't dare touch Ivory with a Dremel!
To me it's like an unspoken rule.

So have you thought about a blade bushing to carry the load of the pinning?

I was wondering about that Tom with the Ivory holding the brass to the tang. It will be like the others I guess except a little stronger since it isn't a solid piece of Ivory, rather a brass piece in between.
Perhaps an insert all the way through the Ivory & brass.
