Can some one give me a link for buying Brass Collars please. I used my last one today and only have stainless steel left.
I purchased my pinning rods from USA 1/16 but they didn't have washers.
All I can seem to find in the UK is 1.5mm but not 1/16
I don't think the links on this site are up to much and I cant find them now..
Thanks

Thanked: 4206I think he carries all kinds now. Check his "other items" from his eBay link. He's on here sometimes as well. Tom will chime in I'm sure as he has tried a few of his already. I've just used his bulls eyes so far.
Those big ones in my hand will be wedges when I'm done with em.Last edited by MikeB52; 01-10-2016 at 01:25 AM.

Here is a picture of one of Austin's small collars installed. Make sure you back them up with a small steel washer. I think he now supplies them with the collars but initially he did not. Without the steel washer the brass will crush and you'll have a devil of a time trying to get the blade pivot tight.

Nearly finished my latest project. It has to be honed but I have a head ache so I'll wait a few days. I have until Sunday when I shave with it.
This one has a tapered spine which I think looks very nice. Its also easier to keep all the lines in tact when its sectioned off like that.
There was a little chunk missing due to rust, top left of the stamp, you cant tell now.
I went with horn. I don't think I'll use horn again. The smell, the work, 8mm down to 3mm by hand . The fact that it warps and curls up from friction heat as well.
Sanded from 240-3k finished with a touch of beeswax which brought it all to life.
Not sure on the shape of the scales but I'm experimenting. The wedge is aluminium with brass lining. It was a fail because the lining came away from the wedge even with super epoxy. I cant be bothered to correct that at the moment because I really like the pinning I did.
Brass pins n washers n collars , this time I cut the pins quite long to have them proud, it took a good while to peen them fully.

Thanked: 4206Lovely job sir!
I like the flow of the scales and the shading across the A side. Cool shape.
Well done mate
