Hi Mike, You had a "cardioversion" where they reset the heart rhythm. That often works for quite a while. Cath lab is for seeing what goes on inside your heart as far as how well the valves are working. When they don't work correctly they are telling me that the surgery at this time is less than one third the induced trauma of the one I had 17 years back. Way better odds now!
I wish you well!

Mike
Don't know if you have had an ICD implanted...if you have..a little late for advice...if you haven't, and your ejection fraction is low and they want to implant an ICD...I'll tell you something they won't tell you, anything they put into your body can fail.
In terms of the ICD, I found out the leads that go into your heart can delaminate...yep, the coating on the wires can peel off and fall into the chambers of your heart. They can change out the ICD if the battery goes flat. But they are reluctant to remove the leads once they are placed. And another surprise, the stuff they put into your body has something like a warranty...when it expires...your problem.
Take care

Damn Dude, must be my brother from another mother!! Went thru a lot of the same stuff
Almost 10 years ago so prognosis is good. Went thru a couple of episodes of arrhythmia within a year of getting stents and then it stopped. Cardiologist said arrythmia is not life threatening in itself but needs to be watched and controlled.
As I said, that was in my early 50's and I'll be an ornery old fart of 63 this month so this crapola works!!! Just gotta follow Drs. orders!!!
You'll be fine and my prayers are with ya bro!
P.S. How do I know you'll be fine? Been following you for awhile and your just too damn stubborn and mean to give in to any grim reaper! He don't want ya cuzz you'd be a handful for him!!
