I didn't hear or read the news report. Hope you are not offended. If you are, please PM sharptonn.

    HAY! I resemble that remark!
(I actually did see that about the reviews, but did not read the article for fear it was fake as well!)

Please indulge me gents. I'm going off topic for a bit about user reviews...

Several years ago I filled out several review forms, kind of like the one's Amazon has, for one of my favorite camping gear makers who also has a retail store where they sell other camping gear that their customers might use. Two or three of my reviews were very positive because I had used the gear a lot and found the quality very high. I did give a poor review on a pair of gloves meant to be used for handling cast iron. The gloves are heavy duty leather with thick insulation on the inside. The problem, which I found out in use, was that there was a gap near the index finger not covered by insulation. I gave the gloves a poor review mentioning the gap in the insulation.
Guess what? All of my positive reviews were published, but the negative review vanished.
    True story.

    [QUOTE=JOB15;1555523]Hi.
I won this blade the other day and I'm wondering what size and grind it is.

Maybe you guys have see these before.

I have to wait for it to arrive from the states and go through customs which takes years or at least it feels like it.

I haven't a clue how to deal with these kind of scales either.

The seller told me a nice story about the blades history which makes it more meaningful to me. I cant wait to get my hands on it.

    Nice score JOB15!!!

Something not right here! I keep trying to add a quote but it wants to add the previous post! Now it is. I had to go back & uncheck JOB15's post manually.

I had a busy evening yesterday. My brother came over to borrow one of my flat screens & my dog ran to the front door, jumped against it slightly & it came open & gone he was so we were out looking for him but he just vanished. Finally my good brother had to go but I told him I would keep in touch. He had tears in his eyes because my dog is like his own. I finally went across the main street behind my house & into that subdivision & I found him. He had gone across that big street & was lost over there, afraid to cross the big 4 lane street again but I had to get my leash out & I finally caught him. I had to take it very slow because I was on my Harley but we made it back here & by then it was late.

I was up late & I did manage to snag a tail-less Acier Fondu with possible Ivory scales for cheap!

Though I understand why Bill sent such gifts back. Those anvils do take some serious time to make, and as said before, Mike took some very praiseworthy initiative in making those and giving them away with no concern for return.. it speaks volumes of his good character.
When he first said that he would send it, the thread was young and I hadn't been on SRP long. My poor experience with people made me think "yeah right, he won't send it, why would he?" "How am i going to finish it? ugh." ... ... ...
I was set aback when I received it. Shining and professional quality!
    Made me rethink some things.

Yep, I know outback Mike put a lot of work into everyones anvil & I'm going to put together a nice little package for him soon. It takes some time to get an anvil that way so he deserves a lot of credit. That was a very nice package Bill sent him but mine will take a little time but well worth the wait!
Now I'm actually considering painting mine like a Rebel flag.....................maybe! On the other hand, I would like to keep outbacks Mojo in it!

    To be honest...
I wanted to paint them in the color of the state flags they were designated to.
But it would have been crazy $$ in paint alone.
So i kept them the same, so as no one would be jealous of the other.

And black goes with everything, thought about autographing them, but we all know where they came from any who.
It's very gratifying to know there's a part of me out there, and possibly be handed down thru the generations or given as a gift again as i did.

    As someone said.....
    To endeavor to persevere.

    Thanks again everyone.

    Keep your eyes open fellas.
The last anvil will be posted in SOTD by Alan Q
    Soon if not already.
He's the guy in Quebec that makes suits of armor and chain meil. As well as shields.
He's a noob to the straight and had one razor, so i sent him another.
Told him , ya gotta have at least two. So he sent his out to be honed, it doesnt shave like mine he said, he messed it up stropping.
Said it was a perfect BBS shave, with no blood letting

Mike, the anvils are fine just the way they are. I'm not going to change mine. Maybe later if I get bored but I don't see that happening. Got plenty of razors needing work! This bug might be slowly on its way out now.....................whew, I felt a little better today & actually had an appetite! I have work that needs to be done!!!
