Thread: The Butchered Blade

Whew!!! Got lucky
I accidentally pushed the blade through the scales while I was pinning it up, and they broke at the wedge. Was able to CA them, sand and polish them back up.
You can hardly tell.
They broke where the wedge pin would be....if it had one.
First pic is the side that broke.
And the geometry is just right, cause I still need to hone it.
Theres just a faint hint of the chip left in the edge, so it will have the smile your lookin for...... BOSS [emoji6]Mike

I actually meant to say the same thing but I forgot to. I have gotten lucky before which had a broken scale & I put it back together with some CA. After I sanded it down & polished it, you couldn't even tell it was ever broken plus I put a little stress on it to make sure it wouldn't break & it had a strong bond so it worked out very well. Now I seem to have misplaced my CA because I need it for finishing a wedge. I know I had it in a small baggie with a pinvise & small drill bit because it always clogs the tip.
