Thanked: 3215Nice work, Harry, love the shape and the texture of the fabric.
If you are going to do production micarta and have a Garment District near, you can buy fabric ”remnants” very cheap by the roll. You have to ask around but there are remnant sellers that buy lots of fabric and sell by the yard or rolls. They usually have one or two rolls of a given pattern or color, which is why they are remnants of a large run, you will pay pennies per yard if you buy the whole roll, usually 60 inches by 100 yards or more.
Large purchases would be good for basic colors, or buy white and dye small lots once cut to size. You can buy rolls of Nylon, canvas and denim super cheap, or scrap cutoff pieces by the pound. BTW it all cash…
They all like to haggle and will sell for at least half the starting “asking” price, so put your haggling cap on. You will be amazed what you can buy and the prices, a fraction of what you would pay in fabric stores. You can also get great deals at large chain fabric stores, if you shop the sales, 40-50% sales are common, most have on-line coupons.
